Ceramic Coatings in Wichita – Ultimate Protection!

Ceramic coating is the best protection for your car

Why Ceramic Coat my Vehicle?

Years ago, paste wax was the go-to choice for adding shine and protecting your car’s paint from elements like rain, bird droppings, and dirt. But thanks to modern science, we now have a longer-lasting, more advanced solution: ceramic coatings.

Unlike traditional wax, ceramic coating forms a semi-permanent liquid layer that bonds directly to your vehicle’s surface. It’s often called a “sacrificial” layer because it absorbs environmental elements—like rain, dirt, and snow—so your paint stays protected beneath.

Think of it like this: wax is like a tent in the forest, while ceramic coating is a sturdy brick house. Both offer protection, but the durability is worlds apart.

Benefits of Ceramic Coating

Many ceramic coating brands make big claims, but I like to keep it real. Here’s what a quality ceramic coating actually offers:

  •  Durable protection that lasts 3 to 8 years
  •  A one-time application—no need to reapply every few months
  •  Rich, deep gloss that outshines wax or sealant
  •  Hydrophobic properties that repel water, keeping your car cleaner and easier to wash
  •  Versatility to protect paint, glass, wheels, vinyl film, and paint protection film

For the best results, ceramic coating requires proper prep work, which includes a thorough paint correction to create a smooth, flawless base. Without this preparation, you won’t get the full benefits of the coating, and poor installation can leave visible smudges, or "high spots," where the coating dried unevenly.

High-quality coatings are challenging to apply and require expert handling—especially durable coatings that last longer. Factors like humidity, temperature, and overall climate play a big role in the installation process. To ensure consistent, high-quality results, I apply ceramic coatings at my location, where I can control the conditions and give your car the professional finish it deserves.

Common Myths About Ceramic Coatings

Ceramic coatings are known for their durability and long-lasting protection, but they aren’t a magic shield for your vehicle. Here are a few common misconceptions to keep in mind:

  • “Scratch-Proof” Protection: While ceramic coatings can resist very light swirls and scratches, they aren’t scratch-proof. The coating can protect against minor surface abrasions from careful washing or drying, but it won’t prevent scratches if you use improper techniques. For example, dragging a dry, dirty wash mitt or rubbing against the paint with your hand can still cause noticeable scratches. It’s designed to handle light wear—not major impacts.
  • Rock Chip Resistance: A ceramic coating can’t stop rock chips. For that, you’ll need paint protection film (PPF), which is specifically designed to absorb impact from road debris. No matter how many layers of ceramic coating are applied, they can’t protect your paint from the direct impact of rocks or other debris.
  • “Maintenance-Free” Coating: Although ceramic coatings are low-maintenance, they still need regular care. To ensure maximum durability, you should follow a routine of proper washing, drying, and boosting with a recommended product. If neglected, even a high-quality ceramic coating meant to last 8 years could start breaking down as early as year 3.

A ceramic coating offers excellent protection and keeps your car looking great, but it has its limits. By understanding these, you’ll know exactly how to get the most out of your investment and keep your car’s finish looking its best for years to come.

Ceramic Coating FAQ

Yes, we do! All our paint correction and ceramic coating services are offered at our home garage built for corrections and coatings. Depending on the level of service, the work can take anywhere from 2 to 5 days to complete.

Once the ceramic coating is applied, your vehicle should not get wet for the first 24 hours to allow it to fully cure. After that, we recommend waiting two weeks before washing the vehicle. The first wash is on us so we can ensure the coating is holding up properly.

No, a ceramic coating can’t fix paint that is chipping or fading due to clear coat failure. If your clear coat is compromised, the only solution is a repaint.

We highly recommend going through the proper paint prep and correction before applying a ceramic coating. Without this preparation, the coating won’t adhere properly, and you won’t achieve the full benefits it offers.
