Years ago, paste wax was the go-to choice for adding shine and protecting your car’s paint from elements like rain, bird droppings, and dirt. But thanks to modern science, we now have a longer-lasting, more advanced solution: ceramic coatings.
Unlike traditional wax, ceramic coating forms a semi-permanent liquid layer that bonds directly to your vehicle’s surface. It’s often called a “sacrificial” layer because it absorbs environmental elements—like rain, dirt, and snow—so your paint stays protected beneath.
Think of it like this: wax is like a tent in the forest, while ceramic coating is a sturdy brick house. Both offer protection, but the durability is worlds apart.
Many ceramic coating brands make big claims, but I like to keep it real. Here’s what a quality ceramic coating actually offers:
For the best results, ceramic coating requires proper prep work, which includes a thorough paint correction to create a smooth, flawless base. Without this preparation, you won’t get the full benefits of the coating, and poor installation can leave visible smudges, or "high spots," where the coating dried unevenly.
High-quality coatings are challenging to apply and require expert handling—especially durable coatings that last longer. Factors like humidity, temperature, and overall climate play a big role in the installation process. To ensure consistent, high-quality results, I apply ceramic coatings at my location, where I can control the conditions and give your car the professional finish it deserves.
Ceramic coatings are known for their durability and long-lasting protection, but they aren’t a magic shield for your vehicle. Here are a few common misconceptions to keep in mind:
A ceramic coating offers excellent protection and keeps your car looking great, but it has its limits. By understanding these, you’ll know exactly how to get the most out of your investment and keep your car’s finish looking its best for years to come.
Price is based on the size of vehicle. General prices are shown below. Please contact us for a more accurate quote.
Do you have a shop?
Yes, we do! All our paint correction and ceramic coating services are offered at our home garage built for corrections and coatings. Depending on the level of service, the work can take anywhere from 2 to 5 days to complete.
Can I wash my car after the coating is installed?
Once the ceramic coating is applied, your vehicle should not get wet for the first 24 hours to allow it to fully cure. After that, we recommend waiting two weeks before washing the vehicle. The first wash is on us so we can ensure the coating is holding up properly.
Can the ceramic coating replace my clear coat?
No, a ceramic coating can’t fix paint that is chipping or fading due to clear coat failure. If your clear coat is compromised, the only solution is a repaint.
Can I get the coating installed without the prep work or paint correction?
We highly recommend going through the proper paint prep and correction before applying a ceramic coating. Without this preparation, the coating won’t adhere properly, and you won’t achieve the full benefits it offers.
